Face Covers
A face cover, also known as a niqab, is a type of veil worn by some Muslim women as a sign of modesty and religious observance. The niqab covers the face and head, leaving only the eyes visible. It is typically made of lightweight fabric such as cotton, chiffon or georgette and comes in a variety of colors and styles. The niqab is worn over the head and is secured in place with ties or elastic. Some face covers have a built-in mesh or sheer fabric over the eyes to allow the wearer to see more clearly. The niqab is worn by some Muslim women as a sign of modesty and religious observance, and it is considered to be a more conservative form of hijab.
